Kahurangi Estate Mt. Arthur Reserve Nelson Pinot Noir 2021

Kahurangi Estates named after the stunning Kahurangi National Park on our doorstep. Kahurangi is a Māori word with a number of translations, two being “treasured possession” and “precious jewel.” The Mt Arthur Reserve Series showcases our premium ‘Reserve’ range of wines which stand out for their superior quality and structure

The initial fermentation involves hand plunging in open fermenters for a duration of four weeks. Following this, a small portion of the wine undergoes maturation in one- and two-year-old French oak barrels, while the majority is aged in older French oak barrels for ten months.

Our Pinot Noir is an elegant, medium-bodied wine characterized by a silky texture. Bright red berry flavors take center stage, enhanced by hints of cranberry and red currant that contribute vibrancy and freshness. A subtle touch of oak introduces gentle complexity, while balanced acidity provides energy and lift. The soft tannins create a smooth mouthfeel, further enhancing the wine’s refined and graceful character.
