Kahurangi Estate Mt. Arthur Reserve Nelson Pinot Noir 2022

Kahurangi Estates named after the stunning Kahurangi National Park on our doorstep. Kahurangi is a Māori word with a number of translations, two being “treasured possession” and “precious jewel.” The Mt Arthur Reserve Series showcases our premium ‘Reserve’ range of wines which stand out for their superior quality and structure

Initial hand plunging in open fermenters for 4 weeks, then a small portion of maturation in 1- and 2-year-old French oak barrels, with the majority of wine maturing in older French oak barrels for 10 months.

Our Pinot Noir is elegant and medium-bodied, with a silky texture. Bright red berry flavors take center stage, complemented by hints of cranberry and red currant that add vibrancy and freshness. A subtle touch of oak lends gentle complexity, while balanced acidity brings energy and lift. Soft tannins provide a smooth mouthfeel, enhancing the wine’s refined and graceful character.
